My Why

I am a wife, mother of three, and a health care professional (not a nurse or a doctor). At one point in time my middle daughter suffered from spontaneous vomiting that nobody could diagnose, and therefore was given Zofran per diem for when the urge came on. She later suffered from weight gain, hair loss and subsequent hives and crushing abdominal pain. The Endocrinologist attributed this to stress but in the end, it was due to a corn allergy. Two of my girls had high cholesterol in their 20’s and one with high blood pressure as well. My father had coronary bypass surgery in his 50’s, my mother had her first round with cancer in her 50’s which reared its ugly head again in her late 60’s.  This time though the cancer was stage 4 with METS to the liver. My husband was diagnosed with high cholesterol and hypertension in his 30’s and the majority of his family has type 2 diabetes. Most would say that is a bucket of bad genes. Partly yes. But what I learned by trying to either diagnose what was going on, or cure the ailment, was when I realized all the things I didn’t really understand about our food and the products was use. I’m happy to say that through changes in what foods we eat, and the products we use, we are all much thinner, my mom and dad are still alive and well, my husband no longer takes medication for high cholesterol and much less for his high blood pressure, and he is the only one in his family without diabetes. My daughter no longer has random vomiting, and her hair has grown back, and she no longer suffers from crushing abdominal pain. This blog is in no way is to sway anyone from medical advice. You should always collaborate with your medical provider, but it is my desire to share information with you so you can make the most informed choices possible.
